Happy Week + A finish

Happy week everyone:)
How was your weekend? Mine had everything.. a little thrifting... sewing... and a lot of slacking.. Yesterday it was so warm outside, we went for a coffee and the center of Athens was almost empty... I think that everyone had the first swim yesterday. uugghhh I'm so jealous!! Although I hear that in the middle of the week will be expecting heavy rain... I think that summer has made it's appearance:)
Anyhooo... I found two pillowcases in a very good cotton quality and I immediately claimed them mine.. I carefully ripped their seams and the lace and now, they are ready for my next order:) This shade of mint (it's not blue..crappy photo again) is absolutely darling... here let me show you:)

I finally finished my order. I am so happy with the result. I began late Friday evening deciding on prints, and cutting all those appliqued pieces, and the faux leather for the road and finished sewing it Saturday evening!! It is the happiest pillow, ssooo cute!!!! I want to keep it:) Wouldn't you???

{ The Road pillow design is from the book Scandinavian Stitches}

The good thing is, that my friend LOVED them.. and she asked me before delivering them to make her three custom cases for her precious photo albums!! I'm so happy and satisfied that my work is appreciated:) Now for the cases, since I'm not so familiar with zippers, I was thinking on going with an envelope style... What do you think? Do you have any suggestions??

Also, planning for this week to begin the Life Quilt for a new coming baby, and also some baby gear like bibs and burp clothes!!! I just love the design of this quilt, it has appliqued pieces which I adore, it's simple and I finally get to practice on free motion quilting:) I will keep in mind the tip from Beth "fast needles slow hands", and with a lot of patience and practice hopefully I will get it done right on time:)

It's gonna be a sew busy week again:)

  1. Envelope style pillows are great - I use them in my now-3-year-old son's room, and he hasn't figured out how to get them off yet, which is a bonus. Zippers, on the other hand, he's totally mastered those. I think your pillow is just lovely! So cute!

  4. I guess I'm just going to have to get that book. The cover makes me smile, and the projects look so adorable. I have a bad habit of buying books and letting them sit. I'm going to have to make that my new year's resolution (who says you can't make them in May?
