Happy Mother's Day mom :)
Happy Mother's Day to all those loved mommies everywhere !!!! :)
Look mama my geraniums are all blossomed:)
and a special Happy Mother's Day to my mama. I don't know, I find myself to be feeling kind of more attached to her as years go by. As a teenager and all through my 20's we had the worst relationship ever!!! We were never "best friends". We constantly disagreed on EVERYTHING!!!! But after 30 or maybe 32 something has changed. It's maybe the fear of losing someone so beloved, or maybe finally realizing that she was right on so many issues...
So, I've managed to finish my gift for her on time!!! And I can give it to her tomorrow morning:) phewww!!!!
Would you like to see it??
Here's a peek!!!
OK I'm kidding... here's another .........!!
OK!!OK!!! See now here's the whole Dresden mini quilt:)
Now I know that it didn't turn out as I would want to, all straight an all, but that's it!!! The binding was the most difficult part!!!.
I almost run out of fabric for the binding, cause at first I cut very thin stripes!!! I don't know where my concentration is when I mostly need it!!! My mittered corners ( if one can call them mittered at all!!!) turned out mmmmm presentable!!! Hopefully, she will like it as much as I do, with all it's mistakes!!!
I'm off to practice on free motion quilting!! Didn't I tell you??? The Brother dealer here in Greece, (due to a very long delay on importing the sewing machine that I ordered), kindly let me borrow another one... And now I can sew identical buttonholes, and free motion quilt!!! Ohhh I'm so excited... I have to start on some custom orders!!! It's going to be a sew busy week:)
Wishing you all a very Happy Sunday :)
So pretty! I'm sure your mum will love it! Love the quilting on it :-)
ReplyDeleteThat will be cherished by your mom!!! Happy Mother's Day, jules
ReplyDeleteI think you did a fantastic job! The echo quilting looks great! She'll love it!
ReplyDeleteLaDonna
That is very nice! I love it and your honesty!!!! All the best to you and your mom on Mother's Day!!!!!
ReplyDeleteI love your echo quilting!!!!! That came out beautifully! If you practice free motion keep repeating as you go "Fast needle, slow hands." The slower you move it the nicer it looks, but the needle is going so fast you feel like you have to zoom the piece through. Good luck--and happy mother's day :)
ReplyDeleteThat's so awesome :) My Mum makes quilts for us on special occasions - she made me and my other half a quilt for our first Christmas - she used to do it because it showed us love and stuff when she didn't really have the money to spent of lots of toys and things like that - I adore my quilts because I know the amount of time that go into them - one day I'll make one for my dinkies when I'm a momma
