Work in progress & mailman calling!!!

Good Day everyone:)
I realized today that Mother's Day is this Sunday (I thought I had one more week!!!) I had to make up my mind really fast... I think that my head was buzzing... I wanted something that was not so difficult so it could be presentable... I've decided that I would make her a big Dresden plate block 16''x16'' (hopefully it won't be that difficult).  I really think that it is a wonderful design. She could either hang it, or use it as a small table runner on her dinning table.. The most important thing is that she likes it.. :)
I'm following the tutorial from Sew Mama Sew from the Dresden Plate Block Sew-Along. I find it very helpful, with clear instructions, and many photos (which is awesome for me since I'm a visual type--I find it more difficult when a tutorial has plain instructions with no pictures to guide you). Are you a visual type also??
I've decided on the colors and the patterns. I'm supposed to cut 20 wedges, so I picked 10 different fabrics, and I will combine them evenly, since I know that my mom is not a random type, she enjoys things to be in complete order... I don't know how I turned out like this???

Here are the 20 wedges, all arranged and ready to be sewn in a pointed shape.

And here are all pointed and ready to be sewn in pairs of 5... dreadful..dreadful moment approaching...

But before I head over to my Mrs. Gritzner (my sewing machine), I wanted to share with you something lovely that happened today... About 2 or maybe 3 weeks ago, I commented on a little strawberry tote bag, made from from lovely Maggie from Maggie Muggins Designs, not realizing that by this I was entering a giveaway... and I won!!! So, an hour ago the bell rang and it was Mr. Mailman, and .....

Isn't this tote the cutest??? Thank you thank you Maggie:)

I'm off to my happy dancing and sewing:)

Hope you have a great day!!!
